equipping God's children for academic success while laying a christian foundation.

OUR MISSION

With over 60 years of impact in the Central Savannah River Area, Tabernacle CDC continues its commitment to provide a caring environment and quality early education that prepares children for each stage of development. Our mission is to serve God by equipping His children for academic success while  laying a christian foundation.

Mary Anne Carter, Director

Our History

Tabernacle Child Development Center, Inc. was founded in 1957 as an institution of higher learning for children ages six weeks to five years old. Under the pastoral leadership and creative vision of Reverend Dr. Charles S. Hamilton, the center would become a revolutionary and innovative legacy with a deep rich history.

The first Director, Mrs. Ruby McNatt, faithfully served for many years (recommend including the # of years if possible), during which time our board was formed.

Mrs. Louise B. Scott succeeded McNatt dedicating 35 phenomenal years of professional, loyal, and dedicated service. Like Reverend Hamilton, she had vision and wisdom that led to unprecedented contributions.

Scott diligently built the daycare to mold the minds of children by instilling in them to be their best as they set out on their academic journey.

Mrs. Scott was followed by Mrs. Julia Brown (# of years), Mrs. Gwen Lamback (# of years), Mrs. Veronica McAlpine (# of years), Mrs. Nancy Melton (# of years), Mrs. Cierra Combs (# of years), and our current Director, Ms. Mary Anne Carter.

Louise b. scott preparatory academy

Our vision is rooted in faith and fueled by purpose — to build a Christ-centered preparatory academy that not only educates the mind but transforms the heart. The Louise B. Scott Preparatory Academy will be a state-of-the-art institution where academic excellence meets spiritual formation, equipping students to walk boldly in their God-given purpose and impact the world for His glory.

We believe every child is uniquely gifted by God, and education should nurture those gifts with intention and care. Our robust curriculum will meet each student where they are, cultivating their talents and aligning their learning with the needs of our community. From the arts and sciences to leadership and service, the Academy will offer an unmatched educational experience that prepares students not only for success in their chosen fields but for a life of faith, purpose, and impact.

Designated as a major project of profound significance, the Louise B. Scott Preparatory Academy will stand as a testament to what God can do through vision, unity, and prayer. The future campus will feature a comprehensive design centered around a main atrium — a place of connection, reflection, and worship — symbolizing that Christ is the center of all we do.

We invite you to join us in this divine assignment. Your support will help us build more than a school — it will help us build a generation. A generation of young men and women who will lead with wisdom, walk in faith, and serve with compassion. Together, we can prepare the leaders of tomorrow to transform communities and glorify God through their lives and learning.
